Hugh was 21 years old when he came to America.
His boat landed in New York Oct. 25, 1864.
On Dec. 12, 1864 he reached Macon County, Illinois. (a Wilderness and raw prairie)
They bought 520 acres of farm land in Champaign County for $37.50 an acre.
He and his family wee grain farmers, also had Polled Durham and shorthorn cattlwe.
The Grahams also raised fine horses of Percheron and Shire breeds
He bought 80 acres in section 22 of Harwood Township. Paid $37.50 an Acre.
Hugh and Johannah are buried in Holy Sepulcher, Ludlow, Illinois.
